HEALTH GUARANTEE
Our commitment is to the health and well-being of every Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in our care. We guarantee that at the time of adoption, the puppy is free of the following infectious diseases: Canine Distemper and Rabies. This guarantee is valid for 3 days from the date of adoption. No other infectious diseases or viruses are covered under this agreement.
The adopter agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of adoption. Failure to do so will void this guarantee. This health guarantee does not cover pre-existing conditions disclosed at the time of adoption, such as hernias, undescended testicles, reproduction issues, size, color, or temperament.
This guarantee is void if the puppy is sold or transferred to another owner. We require that if for any reason you can no longer care for the adopted puppy, you must return it to our rescue. This is part of our commitment to the animal’s lifetime welfare. Under no circumstance will the adoption fee be refunded.
If, within one year of adoption, the puppy is found to have a serious, life-threatening genetic defect, our rescue may, at our discretion, offer a replacement. The replacement will be another Cavalier King Charles Spaniel from our rescue, pending availability and based on the puppy’s needs and the adopter’s suitability. The timing and selection of the replacement puppy are at the discretion of the rescue but will not be unreasonable.
To qualify for a replacement, the adopted puppy must be returned to the rescue, along with a complete copy of medical records and findings from the adopter’s veterinarian for evaluation. If the puppy’s health is in question, the adopter agrees to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian of the rescue’s choice, at the adopter’s expense. Both parties agree to abide by the diagnosis of that veterinarian. If the puppy has been euthanized, a letter from a licensed veterinarian confirming the diagnosis and procedure is required for a replacement to be considered.
The rescue is not responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred by the adopter. Loose stools or Coccidia can be caused by stress and may develop during the transition to a new home. We recommend that a stool sample be analyzed by a veterinarian within 48 hours of the puppy’s arrival to check for internal parasites. The adopter is responsible for the full cost of treating any such issues and agrees not to hold the rescue accountable.
We administer basic deworming products recommended by our veterinarian, but we cannot be held responsible for a parasitic issue that arises after the puppy has been adopted. The guarantee does not cover internal or external parasites.
By adopting this puppy, you agree to these terms, acknowledging your responsibility for the health and welfare of your new companion.
